Since the lodge is run by diesel generators, and the boats need fuel each day, about once a month, Art and Dewey take the AJ (it's the name of a boat; not a tug boat, although that is how they use it.) into Ketchikan and bring out fuel. Check out the photo. The AJ pulls the barge loaded with fuel and oil all the way to town and back again. Since they can't go very fast, it ends up being about an 11 hour round trip!
